An international fleet of tall ships takes over the city of Kotka in Finland for Tall Ships Kotka 2017, a part of The Tall Ships Races 2017. This event will offer a fantastic opportunity for visitors to step aboard many beautiful tall ships from across the world while thousands of crew members meet and compete with their counterparts, bringing international friendship and culture to the forefront of what is sure to be an event like no other.
Finland will be celebrating its 100th year jubilee in 2017 and this event will be their biggest of the year. You’ll be sure to step aboard one of the many Class A ships in attendance, but we also recommend you take the time to see those smaller vessels on show too!
After Kotka, The Tall Ships Races 2017 heads to Turku before returning south to Klaipeda in Lithuania and the finale in Szczecin, Poland.
Did You Know? Many of these vessels offer an experience known as ‘Sail Training’, a course in personal and professional development championed by youth organisations, multi-national corporations and even navies from across the world.
